Congrats to our Music Students
Dear
colleagues,
It
is with great pleasure that we inform you of the outstanding results
accomplished by the music students at EDA this past weekend at the New York
State School Music Association All-State Solo Festival. Each student
prepares a graded solo and performs for a certified NYSSMA judge for a
score. Levels 1-4 receive a score from 1-28 points putting them
into a category of; Outstanding, Excellent, Good, Fair or Needs
Improvement. Levels 5 and 6 (the highest level of music) receive a score
from 1-100.
This year at EDA we had 51 students entered between Orchestra, Chorus and Band.
In level 1-4 solos:
20 students received an Outstanding score (5 students with a perfect score of 28)
23 students received an Excellent score
2 students received a Good score
In level 5 solos:
2 students received a 95
2 students received a 97
1 student received a 99
1 student received a 100 (perfect score) (-:
These 51 students have been working and focusing on their solos for almost 4 months. The levels that they have obtained through diligence, focus, persistence and determination have taught them how to set a goal and strive for perfection while developing their skills and confidence.
We, your music staff, greatly appreciate the support and cooperation you give to us and our students. Thank you all once again!!!
Respectfully yours,
Brett , Heidi and Scott
